Moments ago the Packers organization releases this message, "As an organization we made a decision. That decision was to trade away 3 picks to move up to the #7 spot and take the pride of the Louisville Cardinals, WR Aaron Scott. Scott with his NFL type speed and agility and a strong 6'3" frame is the perfect weapon for Rodgers moving forward for this franchise. After trading away star Greg Jennings a season ago to help fortify the Offensive Line and add speed to our Receiving core, the Packers were in need of a #1 Receiver after the retirement of Donald Driver. 'We saw an opportunity for a star Wide out in this league and we took it' Coach Mike McCarthy said. Later in the second round with the pick traded by Baltimore the Packers drafted C Cody Connoly out of Kent State. Packers scouts say that his is still very raw but with the veteran leadership of Scott (wells) and Jason (Spitz) he will develop into the future rock of this offensive line. Highlights from rounds 3-5 were Nickle CB Nate Harris and Kick Returner Kennith Byndom. Keep an eye for for you #82 Scott jerseys packer fans going on sale soon, and a free rookie card for all you season holders!"

That will go down as the worst trade in GMCFL history...
[what does GMCFL stand for anyway?]

That will go down as the worst trade in GMCFL history... [what does GMCFL stand for anyway?] The GMCFL or General Manager/Coach Football League Something that I came up with in a few minutes.Had a few others in mind but the abbreviation for them were already taken by other leagues. gmcfl.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=howtheleagueworks&action=display&thread=5That was a great trade, Packers got a stud receiver, Bills got a Stud MLB, High potential cover corner, and a extra pick this year.

Packers run game keeps the panthers quiet! Packers take down their Wildcard game 31-7. Rodgers Made all the plays he needed to completing 8/9 passes for 249 yards and 2TD's finishing with a perfect QB rating. On the ground Green Bay discovered a running game they didnt know they had with 2nd year HB James Starks who controlled the ground and the clock with 20 attempts 126 yards and 2 touchdowns. Rookie WR sensation had himself a set of receptions totaling 106 yards and a TD.
The Packers, unsure of who they face next due to madden logic, will be ready for battle!

I'm confused. I thought trading only occurred after the close of FA and prior to simming the season?

No the only time Trading is closed is the morning of the simming of the Season and starts back after the simming. All trades that take place before the advance to off-season is at your own risk because different players progress differently.
