I have to say that I am enjoying this new format - my defenses usually have about 8 starters that are sub 70 overalls and they play great. For the first time ever AWR and PRC are big factors!
NOW IT'S UP TO MY TEAM IN THE SIM!!! 9-7 last year, I think I've made necessary changes to get into the big dance
[PENDING APPROVALS]
QB - Jamarcus Austin - 85 overall, big upgrade over Cassel in my mind - he's got great AWR for a rookie, I have no idea how he will do in the sim. Cassel had many games with 20 completions and 140 yards, Austin will hopefully put up bigger numbers
HB - Jamaal Charles 95, went up to a 95 - should improve on his 1500 yard / 11 td year
WR - Miles Austin 92 & Dwayne Bowe 91 - both progressed and should benefit from Austin's arrival. #3 will be Devin Thomas, but other than Austin / Bowe the KC WRs didn't do much - the PB is mostly 2 WR sets
TE - Moeki 84 progressed 6 points - that's a good thing
LT - Beatty 80 - big downgrade from Albert, but the rest of the line progressed - Charles' skills and Austin's scrambling should make up for it
LG - Asomah 82 progressed 6 points
C - Wiegmann 82 - blah
RG - Lilja - 83, blah
RT - Richardson 82, progressed 7 points - good timing
DE - Edwards 81 / Stroud 77 / T Jackson 76 - not sure who will start, Jackson made the pro bowl last season with 6 sacks. Nothing special here, just looking for guys to occupy blocks and free up the LBers to do damage
DT - Peko 83, went down 2 points - but his fat ass should be fine
ROLB - Hali - 89, declined after a big season (99 TAK 2 SACK 2 FF 4 INT) - still a beast
MLB - Ray Lewis 95 - should be a sim monster - hopefully he puts up huge numbers
MLB 2 / OLB 2 Derick Johnson 82 / Jovan Belcher 82 - hopefully these are my other 2 starters - DJ dropped and Belcher went up 6 points. Vrabel retired, but was in the pro bowl, so hopefully someone can fill his shoes - all these guys have better overalls
CB - Flowers 92 / Webster 91 - both of these guys progressed, last seasons #2 was Carr at 81 - so this will be an improvement - also Ross at 80 will be an improvement at nickel over Arenas who was a 74 last year
FS - Sharper 83, didn't retire and had a decent season
SS - Berry 87 - no movement - still a stud - didn't have any picks last season - hopefully that changes!
On paper I am happy with this team, we will see...
