This is Cassel's last year as a cowboy either way, so either he walks in FA or I get a pick for him.

Peopel are voting no because Cassel had a QB rating of close of like 99.9 or somethign last year, was the #4 yardage QB, but at the same time he is older for a mid ovr QB and I would expect to see his ovr start dropping off soon, and his contract is going to be 23 next year so when you combine those 2 things it seams about fair to me.
If Cassel take 2 years to start dropping the Chargers make out on this trade big time, but history tells me none superstar QBs(Brady, Manning, Brees) start falling off about cassell's age.
If the Chargers 2nd round pick is early it is a great trade for the cowboys who will most likely snag a quality A pot player out of the deal.

I experienced the decline first hand with both Rivers and Romo

I was surpsied about Rivers because I would have put him in that Elite QB category which is why I took the chance on him not bottoming out.

I vote yes, its better to get something for someone your possibly losing to FA, then to get nothing at all. This is how trades should be, good trade on both sides.

no from me as well cassell worth more than a A pot who will never progress to a starter and a 2nd round pick Funny you should say that. He had been sitting on my trade block since July 29th with me looking for a 1st round pick and I didn't get a single offer.

just because no one wants him doesnt mean you can trade him for trash. if this trade passes it sets a standard for starters going for 2nd round picks.

I think its funny how people want this to be sim and have a salary cap penalty. But when someone takes less value for a player then what they're perceived value you is that is a no go. So what if he got a 2nd, Cassel probably isn't in the top third of overall QB ratings, and I don't see him as one of the top User QB's. So he is getting a 2nd and player with high potential. Hell if Cassel is so good, why when he first got traded it took multiple firsts with him to move him?
